Justice For Tonya...
This site is forever dedicated to Tonya Helen Schultz. On May 5th, 2005, Tonya was brutally and senselessly murdered by her husband, Andrew Ronald "Ronnie" Schultz. Ronnie executed Tonya by shooting her TWICE with a single shot shotgun, and he committed this despicable crime IN FRONT OF THEIR TWO CHILDREN, Kenny and Ava, ages 4 and 2 respectively. Tonya was 39 years old at the time of her death, and she loved her kids more than anything in the world. Now Kenny and Ava have a very bleak future to look forward to. They now are without either parent.
Tonya was one of my dearest friends in this world for the last 18 years. Her smile, her laughter, and her fun-loving attitude will be missed by all who knew her. I love you Tonya, and I miss you, I know you are in a better place. God bless, and goodbye, my love.

On November 29th, 2005, Ronnie pleaded guilty to the first degree murder of Tonya in Wicomico County Circuit Court in Salisbury, Maryland. The State's Attorney, in his narrative to the court, gave graphic details of how Ronnie murdered Tonya in front of their two kids, and how he took the time to reload a single shot shotgun in order to shoot her a second time. He testified that Kenny and Ava had their mommie's blood on their clothes at the time police arrived. He testified that Ronnie openly confessed to the arriving deputies from the Wicomico County Sherriff's Office what he had done. Tonya's blood was also found on his pants as well. Tonya had tried to call for help, but the phone, which was still in her hand, had been ripped from the wall. Ronnie EXECUTED her, there is no other way to word it.
Then, in the ultimate slap in the face to Tonya, as well as her family and friends, the State's Attorney announced that "as part of the plea agreement for Ronnie pleading guilty to first degree premeditated murder, the state would NOT seek life in prison without the possibilty of parole" Under Maryland state law, Ronnie could be eligible for parole in AS LITTLE AS 25 YEARS!!! This was a shock to everyone who loved and cared for Tonya, and we feel that the state let us down by not seeking to put Ronnie away for the rest of his miserable life without parole. How they can "bargain" with him after brutally committing first degree murder in front of two children is beyond our realm of comprehension. It is nothing more than a token sentence, and it certainly does not offer any justice for the life sentence that Ronnie imposed upon Tonya. All of Tonya's friends and family are insulted by the State's Attorney's decision to "cut him a break" in return for his plea of guilty. Our coveted legal system let us down...
A message from me, Tonya's friend......
There are so many things I want to say. But nothing I can say or do, and nothing Ronnie can say or do, is going to change the horrific crime that he committed on the morning of May 5 th . Nothing will bring Tonya back. Nothing will give Kenny and Ava their mommy back. Nothing will bring back the special friendship we, Tonya's friends and family, all had with Tonya. Now all we have to cling to are memories.
With one appalling act, Ronnie took so much from so many people. He took away the mother of his children. He took away a friend, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a neighbor, and so much more. But more importantly, he took away a human being. He took away a life. He took away a beautiful person, whose whole world revolved around Kenny and Ava, her young children. However, not only did he just take away all of these opportunities for Tonya and her children, like an animal without a conscience, he brutally and viciously abused this wonderful woman. He beat her, he did unspeakable things to her, and in the end he executed her with a shotgun in front of those 2 lovely and innocent babies.
What kind of barbaric monster would do something as despicable as what he did that morning? What kind of animal is he? He is not human. A human being doesn't make 2 young children watch their mommy be executed with a shotgun. A human being doesn't abuse another human being the way he abused Tonya. And above all, a human being doesn't take away a life. Why couldn't he just walk away? Why did he have to use a shotgun to take so much away from so many people? He had so much: a lovely wife, a home, and 2 beautiful children. He had what many people long for and he used a shotgun to throw it all away. Now he's just "the school bus driver who murdered his wife", and that's all he will be remembered as, and that is what his children will be forced to endure and live with for the rest of their lives.
The community, even those who never knew Tonya, has cried out for Ronnie to receive the death penalty. People all over the world have said he deserves to die for the horrific acts he committed by abusing and murdering Tonya. I, for one, do not want to see him die by lethal injection or any other means. I want him to suffer for the rest of his miserable life in jail. Every day he is alive and in jail is another day he has to suffer, and think about what he did, and what he took away from everyone. I want him to stare at the ceiling in his jail cell every night, like I have stared at my own ceiling for many nights since the morning of May 5 th . I want his time in jail to be a living hell, until such time as he arrives in the eternal hell that he is certainly destined for. He will get what the law allows, because what he deserves, the law doesn't allow.
I hope it eats at his mind every single day he wakes up in jail. I hope the image of Tonya and the blood he spilled torments him until the day he dies. I hope the image of her blood on Kenny and Ava's clothes eats away at his mind like acid. And if he is able to sleep, I hope the sound of those two shotgun blasts wakes him up in terror every time he closes his eyes. I hope that he hears the crying of Kenny and Ava after what he did to their mother constantly ringing in his ears. I hope he suffers for what he has done, since so many of Tonya's family and friends have suffered for what he has done. Her blood is on his hands, and I hope it haunts him for the rest of his miserable existence on this earth.
As he is taken away to prison, and as the door of his cell closes, he should remember that he is the only one to blame for his being in jail. It was his decision to go to his parent's house and get that shotgun. It was his decision to bring that gun with him that morning. It was his decision to aim it at Tonya, and it was his decision to pull that trigger, reload, and pull that trigger again. If it weren't for his horrific actions, Tonya's laughter could still be heard, and her love could still be felt. Her family and friends have only memories to cling to. Ronnie imposed a life sentence on Tonya without any judge or jury. And today, if there is any justice in the world, you, Your Honor, will impose a life sentence on Ronnie. I cannot speak for Tonya's family and for her many other friends, but I, as her friend, will never, ever, as long as I live, have any forgiveness for him for what he has done. He took away my friend, and he will find out the price he will have to pay. I hope to God it costs him dearly, and I hope he pays for it every single day during the rest of his miserable life in jail.CLICK HERE for sentencing update
